Patrick B. Kavanaugh, Ph.D. was re-elected to the Board of the International Federation for Psychoanalytic Education for a three-year term beginning in January 2005.

Dr. Kavanaugh was invited to contribute a chapter to a book called, Power Games: Influence, Persuasion and Indoctrination in Psychotherapy Training, Richard Raubolt, Ph.D., editor. His chapter is titled: “On Cutting the Grass, Psychoanalytic Education, and the Interweave of Ideology, Power, and Knowledge: An Historical and Philosophical Perspective.” The book is to be published by the Other Press in 2005.

His paper, “Madness In Psycho(analy)sis: The Ear-rationality of Treating Illusion as Reality,” has been accepted by the European Journal of Psychotherapy, Counseling and Health for publication in 2005.
