Food for Thought: A Simpler Kroger Project Those who shop at Kroger, whether regularly or occasionally, can send some money MSPP’s way at no cost to themselves and for minimal effort. This program boosts our resources for meeting our society’s expenses without additional cost to individuals. Each time participants, as a group, reach a total spending of $5,000 at Kroger, MSPP receives $250. The purchaser pays nothing extra and uses a regular gift card (no more certificates) at the register. The gift cards are issued to you through MSPP and the purchaser adds money at the Kroger Service Desk whenever he/she wishes.
The program works as follows:
1. Each card comes with $5.00 value and costs $5.00
2. You can add money to the card at the service desk of your local store by check, cash, or credit card. (And you still earn your frequent-flyer miles or other credit card bonuses.)
3. The amount added is up to the holder.
4. Money can be added whenever the holder wishes.
5. Kroger keeps track and sends MSPP a check for $250 whenever group purchases total $5,000. But please call or e-mail the MSPP Treasurer whenever you add funds. This will serve as a check and record outside the Kroger electronic system and keep us apprised of how we are doing.
6. If your card is lost, please notify the MSPP Treasurer.
7. Cards do not expire, but if they are unused for 12 months running, there is a charge. See back of card and, if you drop out of the program, remember to spend down your card, inform our treasurer, and we will cancel the card if it is returned to us.
8. Money spent is not a tax deduction. Kroger gets the tax deduction. Groups participating must be 501(c)(3).
